I just updated to Windows 10 version 1803 - also known as the April 2018 Update. Now Sleep mode no longer works. Let me explain. When I am going to be off my computer for an hour or so I usually put it in Sleep mode with my USB mouse.START button Shutdown or sign out SleepThen when I returned to my laptop all I had to do was slightly move my mouse and my desktop screen would reappear. But since I installed version 1803 there is no response. The only way to reestablish Windows is with the power button.Any ideas? I read - but never received confirmation - that the fix might require a modification to the motherboard. After a Windows update on 10/20/17 my Toshiba laptop would not complete a restart without displaying the following error message “Toshiba Flash Cards – This app is preventing you from restarting.”Some Toshiba owners were able to fix this with an updated driver for 'Toshiba Function Key' - while others were not so fortunate. Now after Win 10 v. 1803 there appears to be a compatibility issue for at least some Toshiba laptops with Windows shutting down when the user selects SLEEP from the START menu.I am tempted to rollback and wait to see if someone comes up with a solution later. The advice I read yesterday to wait a couple months to update your system after such a major revision is starting to appear increasingly prudent.:-)Footnote:For my Toshiba Satellite L75-A7271 it appears the BIOS download has not been updated since 2014. Hmmm.ETABut I did find a newer display driver at an Intel website.
